Group Treatments for Kids (Juvenile Scoliosis Treatments)
At the Canada Scoliosis and Neuro Centre, we’re offering a special class designed exclusively for children who have attended our one on one Schroth sessions. This session will be led by our experienced physiotherapists, including Samantha Paige and Fariba Taheri.
More about our Group Scoliosis Treatments for kids
- Exercise Programs: Sessions include exercises to improve posture, strengthen muscles, and enhance flexibility, with activities customized for each child to ensure they receive the appropriate help and attention.
- Therapeutic Play: Play is integrated into therapy to keep kids engaged and make exercises more interesting, with activities like balance games and obstacle courses promoting movement and coordination.
- Peer Support and Motivation: Sharing experiences, challenges, and successes can be incredibly motivating and reassuring.
- Parental Involvement: Parents are encouraged to join or observe sessions to understand the treatment process and support their child at home, while family education sessions offer guidance on managing scoliosis outside of therapy.

Group Treatments for Teens (Adolescent Scoliosis Treatments)
For teens aged 10 to 18, scoliosis treatment must address both physical and emotional aspects. Group treatments for adolescents create a collaborative and supportive environment where they can manage scoliosis together.

- Structured Exercise Programs: These sessions include exercises to strengthen back muscles, improve spinal alignment, and increase flexibility, with programs that are age-appropriate and consider different levels of scoliosis severity.
- Postural Training: Exercises and activities focus on improving posture to reduce discomfort and prevent progression, while group instruction reinforces the importance of maintaining good posture in daily life.
- Lifestyle and Activity Guidance: Teens are encouraged to stay active and participate in sports and activities that are safe for their condition, with group sessions providing tips on how to modify activities to accommodate scoliosis and prevent injury.
- Progress Monitoring and Goal Setting: Regular assessments track each participant’s progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Teens are encouraged to set personal goals and track their achievements, which helps foster a sense of accomplishment and motivation.
